Prof. Danso-Wiredu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography Education at UEW. With over 15 years of teaching experience, she has made significant contributions to academia and research. Her PhD research focused on "The Puzzles of Living in Urban Poor Communities: The Role of Informal Governance Structures in Housing Provision in Accra and Winneba, Ghana," highlighting her dedication to addressing urban housing challenges. Her research interests include Urban Geography, urban housing typologies (particularly housing options for the urban poor), Human-Environment Interactions, Gender and Development, and Community-Based Associations. 

The election for the Pro Vice-Chancellor position was conducted by the UEW Convocation, comprising faculty and senior administrative staff. Prof. Danso-Wiredu's election reflects the confidence the university community places in her leadership abilities and vision for the institution's future.
